Profil
Sieglinde Lemke is Professor of North American and Cultural Studies at the University of Freiburg, Germany. The author of three monographs, her publications span Classical American Modernism, African American film and literature, queer identity, class and belonging, and human–posthuman relations. Her latest book Inequality, Poverty, and Precarity in Contemporary American Culture offers a discourse analysis of socio-economic inequality in the United States and its representation in fiction, non-fiction, political rhetoric, and documentary photography. Professor Lemke has also served as Director of the creative writing summer school The Black Forest Seminar. She has delivered guest lectures at universities across the United States, Australia, India, and Europe.
