A Week of Exchange and New Connections

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming the 2025–26 cohort of the Freiburg Rising Stars Academy at IMBIT during the Rising Stars CONFERENCE Week of the University of Freiburg.

What began as first introductions quickly turned into a vibrant week of exchange, curiosity, and collaboration. 🤝

The Rising Stars took part in interactive workshops and an open Fireside Chat that offered space for open conversation and shared perspectives beyond the formal academic setting.

A key moment was their meeting with the Host PIs, where they explored institutions, connected with researchers, and discussed their projects. In these final two days, all Rising Stars presented their research in seven‑minute talks to a multidisciplinary audience—an impressive challenge they all mastered.

We are especially pleased that all Rising Stars who applied for the Residence phase were selected—a striking testimony to the outstanding quality and potential cohort.
