Neurotechnology for the Future of Medicine
On 4 March at 5 p.m., the DGBMT will launch the first TECH TALK in its new series ‘Neurotechnology for the Future of Medicine’.

1st talk in the tech talk series:
Applications of Neurotechnology: From Nerve Monitoring to Nerve Stimulation
Under the title ‘Applications of Neurotechnology: From Nerve Monitoring to Nerve Stimulation’ Prof. Dr. med. Steffen Rosahl (Helios Klinikum Erfurt) and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Stieglitz (University of Freiburg) will provide an overview of current medical applications and technological developments in neurotechnology. We highlight key drivers of innovation, existing challenges and the path from technical solution to clinical application. This will be followed by an open discussion.
With this TECH TALK, the DFBMT is launching a seven-part digital event series developed by the DGBMT expert committees ‘Neuroprosthetics and Intelligent Implants’ and ‘Implantable Assistance Systems & Rehabilitation Technology’. Until mid-June, key success factors – from technical fundamentals and regulatory requirements to clinical implementation – will be explored in depth. This will result in a DGBMT position paper that brings together the findings.
The online talks will take place every two weeks, last a maximum of 60 minutes and combine one or two short keynote speeches with an open discussion.
The series is part of the DGBMT’s flagship innovation ‘Neurotechnologies on the Way to Humans,’ which was launched in early 2026.
