Rector’s Annual Report for 2025 has been published

Featuring interviews and in-depth articles, the Rector’s Annual report 2025 offers fascinating insights into the most significant developments of the past year.
With its application for the status of University of Excellence and the development of its agenda for the future, the University of Freiburg addressed long-term strategic questions last year: What goals is the University pursuing in times of global uncertainty? How does it safeguard its research strength and how does it remain attractive to researchers and students?
The 2025 Annual Report provides answers to these questions as well as insights into other key issues facing the University. In addition to the University’s overall strategy, the publication highlights key developments in study and teaching, administration, research and innovation, internationalization and sustainability, as well as University culture.
“The 2025 Annual Report features an updated design and a new concept: We’ve given the report a more personal touch. For example, the members of the Rectorate provide insight into their areas of responsibility in detailed interviews. Each interview is supplemented by two focus articles that explore some of our strategic future topics in greater detail for you. In addition to major strategic developments, we inform you about key personnel changes, honors, and facts and figures”, says rector Prof. Dr. Kerstin Krieglstein.
