Enrolment

You must be enrolled at the University of Freiburg if you want to pursue a degree, i.e., take courses and examinations.

You can apply for and complete your enrolment in writing by post or in person at the Registration Office at the Service Center Studium.

In order to enrol, you must properly apply for enrolment within the specified period and have all required documents.

Cancellation of enrolment

You can have your enrolment cancelled up to one day before the beginning of the lecture period. From the first day of the lecture period on, you only have the option of disenrolling.
You can apply for cancellation of enrolment in writing. 

With the cancellation of enrolment, you irrevocably give up your place in the degree programme. Your semester fee can only be refunded to you if you applied for the cancellation of enrolment in writing no later than one day before the beginning of the lecture period and included your bank account information on the application. Once the lecture period begins, it is no longer possible to cancel your enrolment and be refunded your semester fee.
