Teaching and learning across borders

At the University of Freiburg, teaching and learning transcend national borders. The University offers all students the opportunity to gain international experience and to strengthen their language and intercultural skills. This lays an important foundation for success in a globally interconnected world facing international challenges.

22 English-language and 15 German-French language degree programmes, mobility schemes within Erasmus+, Eucor and EPICUR, as well as the University College Freiburg (UCF), enable students to learn across linguistic, cultural and disciplinary boundaries. In this way, the University attracts international talent: in 2023, the proportion of international students enrolled in Master’s programmes at the University of Freiburg stood at 32 per cent. Partnerships with universities across Europe and around the world also enable Freiburg students to gain experience abroad, from Strasbourg to Sydney.
