This year\u2019s edition of the Stadtradeln campaign will take place in Freiburg from 14 June to 4 July 2026. The goal is to cover as many kilometres as possible in a climate-friendly way by bicycle. The University is taking part with its own team. Students, departmental student committees, departments, or faculties can form their own sub-teams.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Freiburg will be taking part in Stadtradeln, a nationwide campaign in promotion of sustainable mobility, for the sixth time this year. The University of Freiburg is supporting this goal with its participation \u2013 the participants make an active contribution to climate protection by cycling together, while at the same time doing something good for their health. In addition, participation strengthens team spirit and a sense of belonging. Last year the University managed to improve its placement in the team ranking from 12th<\/sup> to 3rd<\/sup> place. Now our task is to defend this position. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The University is providing employed staff members the opportunity to try out various kinds of bicycles: one folding bicycle for commuting by train, two electric cargo bikes, and two electric trekking bikes. If you are interested in trying out one of these bicycles, please contact Sustainability Management<\/strong> by 5 June 2026. If more people are interested than bicycles are available, the decision will be made by drawing lots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, like last year, 90 bicycle drinking bottles will be raffled off among all participants in the University team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants can track the kilometres they ride either with the Stadtradeln app or on the campaign website. Data processing in connection with the use of the Stadtradeln app is handled by the organizer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
