Research
I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Nature Conservation and Landscape Ecology at the University of Freiburg. I am heavily involved in transdisciplinary projects on the various roles of bees and their protection in agricultural landscapes across Europe. My research focuses on understanding plant and pollinator communities and their contribution to ecosystem services in agricultural (forestry) ecosystems. I am particularly fascinated by the interactions between floral resources, pollinators, agricultural practices and the environment in order to understand ecological mechanisms such as the competitive behaviour of wild pollinators and honey bees and the suitability of landscape features as nesting habitats.
