Yes, you can attend courses without sitting the exams or applying for ECTS credits. You will need to check with your home university to see whether this affects your travel expenses.

As an Eucor incoming student at the University of Freiburg, you do not necessarily need a Learning Agreement. However, your home university or faculty may require one. If you wish to have ECTS credits recognised, it is recommended that you have a Learning Agreement signed before the start of your mobility period to ensure that your achievements can be recognised.

By signing the document, your home university guarantees that the ECTS credits you earn during your mobility period can be recognised as part of your degree programme. The host university’s signature guarantees that you can attend the courses listed in the Learning Agreement.

To enrol in courses, you must first register at the University of Freiburg free of charge. To do so, you must complete the registration form and submit it to the Student Office (studierendenbuero@zv.uni-freiburg.de) along with a certificate of enrolment from your home university (certificat de scolarité) and proof of health insurance (see above) .

Once you have enrolled, you will receive your Unicard and your login details for accessing the University of Freiburg’s online services, and you will be able to register for courses in the course catalogue. You can find instructions here. Please note: You may also need to register separately for the exam(s). Please be aware of any deadlines.

There are no deadlines for enrolment in Freiburg. Different deadlines apply for registering for courses and exams. If you have any questions about this, please contact the relevant Eucor representative for your faculty, institute or department in Freiburg. Your home university may have specific deadlines for outgoing students.

If you are coming from Unistra or UHA, this is possible. Please note, however, that not every department at your home university has Erasmus agreements with the University of Freiburg. You can put this question to the international officer at your faculty.

Once you have enrolled, you will receive the Freiburg Unicard. You can use this to eat at the University of Freiburg’s canteens.

Even if you are not enrolled at the University of Freiburg, as a student at a Eucor university you can still eat in the University of Freiburg’s canteens: with your student ID from your home university, you can obtain a MensaCard (deposit: €7) at the Service Point cash desks and use it to eat in the Freiburg canteens at the student rate.

Once you have enrolled, you will receive your Unicard and your login details for the University of Freiburg’s online services. These will allow you to use the University of Freiburg’s libraries and access both digital and physical resources.

Even if you are not enrolled at the University of Freiburg, you can still use the libraries as a student at a Eucor university. You can register at the University Library of Freiburg with your identity card or passport and a certificate of residence. The library card is issued free of charge and gives you access to the library’s physical resources. You can find further information here.

After enrolling at the University of Freiburg, yes.

Yes – however, the International Office cannot help you find a supervisor. You will need to apply directly to the faculty or department.
