The nearest airport to Freiburg, with connections within Europe.
The Freiburger Airportbus runs between EuroAirport and Freiburg Central Station. Another option for the transfer is Flixbus.
The most common destination airport for travellers arriving from abroad, with many direct flights.
An Intercity Express train of the Deutsche Bahn connects the airport (“Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbf”) with Freiburg.
Transfer is possible with Deutsche Bahn or Flixbus.
Arrival by train
Each semester, the International Office sets specific Arrival Days on which it is recommend that you arrive in Freiburg. On these days, we welcome exchange students to the International Office and go through the most important formalities.
To help new international students prepare for their studies and life in Freiburg, the International Office organises a Welcome Day, which provides a wealth of information on various aspects of student life in Freiburg.
Attendance is strongly recommended. The event features online presentations on various topics, as well as an evening information fair and a welcome dinner.
