The Office of the Dean for Research of the Faculty of Medicine offers researchers at the Faculty of Medicine a point of contact for general research-related matters. In addition to providing advice on research and career development, the Office of the Dean for Research disseminates information on research-related topics and contributes to the structural development of research focus areas and academic personnel development.

The Subdivision for Research Services (ForS) provides information and advice on intramural and national support and funding programs, assists research consortia with the application process and raises awareness of quality in research and good scientific practice. It also advises the faculty management on the development and implementation of strategic research initiatives.

The Subdivision for Research Infrastructures and Research Data supports, advises and informs the scientists of the Faculty of Medicine on research infrastructures and the handling of research data, e.g. in the context of funding applications. It also records and reviews the Faculty of Medicine’s publications in the institutional repository FreiDok plus to evaluate research performance.

The EU Office of the Faculty of Medicine supports scientists in the application and processing of projects in the Framework Program of the European Union, in other European and international programs as well as in transnational calls for proposals.

The Subdivision for Academic Qualification Programs (AkQua) aims to provide doctoral researchers with the best possible support in their career development. Various intramural and target group-specific support and qualification programs are coordinated by the AkQua Subdivision, including the Education and Qualification for Postdocs (EQUIP) course program. A further task is the development of strategic measures for the professional development of scientists.
