Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG)

The German Research Foundation (DFG) recognizes and supports the best researchers through its funding, while also providing them with the necessary resources and freedom to conduct successful research. An important goal of the DFG is to support young researchers by offering programs that adequately support all phases of their careers. A key focus of the DFG is fostering independence amongst early-career researchers.
Note on deadlines: If you do not have an elan user account, you must register at least 2 weeks before the end of the submission deadlines. Otherwise, submissions of applications will not be possible!

Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR)

The BMFTR supports innovative projects and ideas in research through targeted funding programs on specified topics. The aim of research funding is to finance the development of new ideas and technologies.

Current Calls:

Strengthening start-up activities in the life sciences “GO-Bio next” (deadline: by 15 March and 15 September of each year for the first stage)
Funding for projects on the subject of “Alternative methods to animal testing” (deadline: by 15 March of each year)
Funding for projects in the subject area “SME-innovative: Medical technology” (deadline: by 15 April and 15 October of each year for the first stage)

Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg (MWK)

Science, research and the arts play a vital role in societal development. The Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg supports these areas with a range of measures and schemes, in which the principles of equal opportunities are taken into account in the competitive funding decisions.

Faculty Mobility Programme in den USA
Researchers can apply for short-term stays at partner universities in Connecticut, California, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Ontario. In addition to student exchanges, these programs are designed to promote researcher mobility and thereby advance scientific collaboration with the partner regions:
