Administration of Third-Party Funds

As part of the contract administration for the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Freiburg, the administrative office for third-party funds of the Medical Center – University of Freiburg is responsible, among others, for the administrative management of externally-funded projects (fund management, monitoring and accounting).

The administrative office for third-party funds supports project managers with the following tasks, among others:
– Application procedures with the federal ministries (e.g. BMFTR) for grants on an expenditure basis (AZA / P form)
– Plausibility check of personnel cost rates in your application
– Administrative support for Research Commission grants

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The main committee of the German Research Foundation (DFG) has decided to allow the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the review process going forward. However, its deployment may only occur under clearly defined conditions, which are outlined in a usage and transparency guideline for scientists and other individuals involved in the assessment and decision‑making process.

Under the AI section of the Digital Teaching Lab, you will find information on AI tools, e-learning and workshops on generative AI, access to a free learning platform for AI and a nationwide training series as well as links to helpful further information.

The guidelines are intended to serve as an orientation aid for the application and use of AI for all employees of the Medical Center – University of Freiburg and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Freiburg. The aim is to ensure the responsible and safe use of AI technologies and to maximize their potential to increase efficiency, quality assurance and innovation.

The Faculty of Medicine’s EQUIP (Education and Qualification for Postdocs) program publishes the monthly EQUIP Postdoc Newsletter in English to provide information about specific courses, lectures, events, calls for applications and other important information relevant to postdocs at the Faculty of Medicine.
