The EPIADAPT priority program aims to create new insights into epigenetically driven transcriptional control and epigenetic adaptation in the central neural system (CNS) in the context of transitory cell states and adaptation as hallmarks of development. This will advance our knowledge of the basic mechanisms of CNS development, the physiological responses during adaptation, and their deregulation in developmental diseases and upon environmental insults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EPIADAPT aims to investigate the up- and downstream mechanisms that impinge on epigenomes during neurodevelopment. It will highlight how adapted epigenomes connect to specific cellular consequences. We will thus advance understanding about the signals that adapt chromatin modifications, about chromatin modifications that adapt signaling, and the mechanisms of this interplay between cause and consequence in developmental processes in the CNS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EPIADAPT brings together renowned, Germany-based scientists from the emerging field of neuroepigenetics, who are world-wide recognized pioneers and experts in using transformative emerging technologies, including high-throughput (single cell) sequencing, epigenomic editing approaches, and usage of combined in vivo and in vitro model systems. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
