In the summer semester 2025, our new event series will take place with a focus on sustainable mobility. The program planning for this new event series is in full progress, but it is never too late to get involved on a voluntary basis!

If you like to support us, feel free to join one of our upcoming open organization meetings on April 3 or April 17, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM (c.t.) at the Student Sustainability Office (2nd floor, Hebelstraße 10, Freiburg).

We are always happy to welcome both new and familiar faces!

New Graphic Novel Communicates Sustainability in a Creative Way!

Addressing new audiences involves exploring new avenues: This insight motivated five members of the first generation at the Young Academy for Sustainability Research (YAS) to convey their research findings to teenagers in a graphic novel. How can interdisciplinary scientific findings from sustainability research be communicated to young people? This is the core question Dr Sarah May, Lea Breitsprecher, Dr Ida Wallin, Dr Cristina Espinosa, Dr Matthias Kranke, and Dr Javier Francisco dealt with in their project ‘Graphic Novel “Welt im Wandel – Fünf Stories zur Umweltkrise“‘ (Graphic novel ‘World in transition – five stories about the environmental crisis’), which they conducted in the first cohort of the interdisciplinary Young Academy for Sustainability Research (YAS). Read more about it on the website.
