Master of Education – Additional Subject
The M.Ed. degree programme for an Additional Subject qualifies graduates to enter the practical training phase for teacher education (Gymnasium) with an additional, i.e. third, subject.
This degree programme can only be taken up in conjunction with or after the completion of a regular bachelor’s or master’s degree related to teacher-education for the Gymnasium. The master’s certificate can only be issued after the completion of a regular Master of Education programme (Gymnasium).
The degree programme is composed of a subject of study and its subject-specific didactics. It can be studied in two forms. The programme with 120 ECTS credits leads to the full academic qualification for teaching this additional subject at all levels of a Gymnasium. The programme with 90 ECTS credits leads to the academic qualification for teaching this subject in years 5 to 10 at a Gymnasium.
