Research operations will continue under consideration of safety and preventive measures. Both the regulations laid out by Corona Ordinance from the State of Baden-Württemberg as well as the University hygiene regulations apply to the admissibility of meetings. If meetings take place, a minimum distance of 1.5 meters in all directions between the participants must be maintained. This can be done, for example, by blocking individual workstations, pulling apart worktables or reversible markings on floors or surfaces. The distance requirement also applies without restriction to outdoor activities.
Mouth-and-nose coverings are to be worn by everyone from the moment they enter the University buildings in high-traffic areas within the buildings, especially in doorways and other entrance areas, passageways, corridors, staircases and sanitary facilities. Employees may remove the mouth-and-nose covering after reaching their workplace in University buildings while working, provided that a minimum distance of 1.5 meters to persons working in the same room is maintained.
At the same time, we ask you to always be prepared for the fact that (research) buildings can no longer be entered for a short period of time, whether due to a building or area closure or a personal quarantine situation. Please identify – if not already done so – critical infrastructure in your areas, e.g. deep-freeze storage, animal cages, equipment or experiments that require regular on-site care. Please clarify internally who is responsible for these areas and who can represent you in the event of a loss of personnel (illness, quarantine, etc.).
The respective funding organizations (e.g. information from the DFG) will provide information on possible changes to submission deadlines and review procedures for funding applications. The quorum of the university committees is guaranteed, so that decisions can be made on any application submissions and the establishment of funded projects.
The Freiburg Research Services have switched to counseling and services by telephone and e-mail. Visitor traffic will be limited to what is absolutely necessary (e.g. to provide signature services).
Ever since the University of Freiburg has reached phase 4 of the corona phased plan, meetings, congresses, etc. have been prohibited.
Other University events with more than 100 participants are prohibited. University buildings may be used exclusively for University purposes in accordance with the Corona Ordinance on study operations from the State of Baden-Württemberg. Third-party events are not permitted. In any case, protection against infection must be guaranteed in accordance with the University hygiene regulations (minimum distance of 1.5 meters between participants, wearing a mouth-and-nose covering, etc.) and data collection must be carried out in accordance with the Corona Ordinance from the State of Baden-Württemberg (first and last name, address, date and period of attendance and, if available, telephone number, if the data is not already available). It is also necessary to have proof that persons are not infected according to the Corona Ordinance from the State of Baden-Württemberg. Persons who refuse to have their contact data collected shall be excluded from visiting or using the facility or participating in the event.
Please note the general regulations for University staff members.
