Registration and deregistration

Nach der Anmeldung in HISinOne wählen Sie unter dem Reiter StudAfter logging into HISinOne, start by selecting your preferred course under the ‘studies offered’ tab. You can find courses that are open for registration in two places:

• the course catalogue: Select ‘Center for Key Qualifications’ from the ‘courses by selected institutions’ tab.
• the course programme (PDF) on our home page: Click on the course of your choice.

Please be sure to always select the correct semester. To open the details pane for a course, click on the magnifying glass symbol in the ‘actions’ column. On the details pane, you can click on the registration option during the registration phases. If you wish to register for this course, click directly on the button. Now you will be taken to the list of all courses offered at ZfS. Then submit a registration request with priority. Bachelor’s students may submit a total of three priorities twice and Law students a total of three priorities once (priority, 1st alternative, 2nd alternative).

There is an exception to the above-described rule if a course is offered several times (in parallel groups). In this case, you must submit group priorities, i.e., preferences at the level of time, in addition to your choice of module priority (priority, 1st alternative, 2nd alternative).

Please note that your registration request is confirmed only after you click on the ‘register/deregister now’ button.

Select ‘my course and examination registrations’ from the ‘my studies’ menu. You will be taken to a list of your registrations, including their processing status. You can also cancel registration requests here.

Notice: The ‘registration request’ status only shows current registration requests. Not until your status changes to ‘participation accepted’ have you been officially admitted to the course.

You can also see which priorities you submitted for particular courses. In the note ‘priority 1, 1’, for example, the first number is the module priority and the second the group priority.

If you have submitted your registration request in the system, your status is initially ‘registration request’.

The priorities phase is followed by the allocation of places on a day of allocation. The time at which you submit your registration request does not have any influence on the allocation of places. If there are more first priorities for a course than there are available places, the places are allocated at random. Once all first priorities have been ‘worked off’, the remaining free places are allocated among the second priorities and so on, until all places have been allocated. All unfulfilled registration requests expire.

On the day after the allocation, you can find out whether you have received a place by selecting ‘my course and examination registrations’ from the ‘my studies’ menu and checking the display in the ‘status’ column.

If you have received a place and have been officially admitted, your status reads ‘participation accepted’.

In this case, you will receive notification via a message on the portal and an email as soon as your registration status changes to ‘participation accepted’or from this statusto another status (through your own action or through a processing procedure).

Please log into HISinOne to find out details on the course status under ‘my course and examination registrations’.

You can also see which priorities you submitted for particular courses. In the note ‘priority 1, 1’, for example, the first number is the module priority and the second the group priority.
Deregistrations/rejections are not displayed.

If you did not receive a place and still need to earn ECTS credits or an SQ certificate, you can submit registration requests again during the registration with immediate admission phase.

Case A: There are still free places in the course

You are admitted directly as soon as you have submitted your registration request by clicking on ‘register’.

Select the ‘my course and examination registrations’ tab from the ‘my studies’ menu. You immediately receive the status ‘participation accepted’ and notification of this change in status via a message on the portal and an email.

Case B: The course is fully booked (no waiting list)

There is no waiting list during this phase. This means that you cannot submit a registration request for fully booked courses. Starting with the open admission phase, you can have yourself placed on the waiting list and possibly be admitted to the course subsequently.

If you have difficulties receiving admission to a course you need to take after the deadline day, you can take advantage of our hardship case consultation hour. Parallel to this, you can register for a free place directly in HISinOne  starting at 9 a.m. on the day of the hardship case consultation hour.
