Data Stewardship Service
Note: This Service is Coming Soon!
Large research projects such as clusters of excellence or coordinated DFG programmes will soon be able to make use of a data stewardship service. Details will follow.
Data Stewards can assist in tasks including (but not limited to):
- Data management plan (DMP): Support in the creation and implementation of the DMP in accordance with the FAIR principles and guidelines of the funding organizations. This includes initial planning, regular adjustments and ensuring long-term compliance with these principles.
- Data management strategy: Preparing data according to common life cycle models with the aim of reusability and replicability requires a strategically planned approach that takes university and subject-specific regulations or policies into account. Data stewards support the development of group-specific agreements.
- Further RDM training: Data stewards work with researchers to develop how to handle their data and the necessary infrastructure.
- Data organization and documentation: Advice and operational support in the structured organization of data and metadata. Documentation for the purpose of reusability and replicability by other researchers.
- Long-term archiving and publication: Support in archiving and publishing research data in recognized repositories to ensure long-term availability.
- IT infrastructures for analysis and storage solutions: Advice on the use of both university and external IT resources such as NFDI or specialist services for the storage, processing and backup of research data, taking into account data protection and technical requirements.
