Taori – first ECOSENSE Spin-Off

In ECOSENSE, we place strong emphasis not only on advancing environmental science and engineering but also on translating research innovations into practical solutions that can benefit the wider scientific community. One effective mechanism for transferring knowledge and technology developed within research environments into real‑world application is the creation of spin‑off companies.

We are thus very pleased to introduce our first spin‑off: Taori. Taori was founded by two members of the ECOSENSE team — one of our technicians, Delon Wagner, and our data manager, Jasmin Tesch — who identified a recurrent operational challenge in environmental fieldwork: existing datalogging systems are often technically demanding to set-up and to integrate with structured data environments. In response, they developed an intuitive datalogger system that requires minimal technical expertise and streams data directly to a pre-set database. This approach enables efficient field data collection and management, even without dedicated technicians, letting scientists focus on research rather than technical challenges.

The creation of a spin‑off like Taori reflects our commitment to making research outputs accessible and usable beyond the immediate project context. By formalising this innovation as a dedicated company, the technology can be further maintained, supported, and adopted by a wider community of researchers and practitioners.

We invite you to learn more about Taori and explore how their datalogging tools can support your environmental monitoring workflows. Visit their website under www.taori.eu.
