Submit your nominations for the Alumni prize for outstanding social involvement now

Alumni Freiburg e.V. recognises students and student groups who demonstrate outstanding social involvement. Nominations for the prize, which is worth €2,000, can be submitted until 7 June 2026.
Making involvement visible: Alumni Freiburg e. V. is once again awarding the Alumni prize for outstanding social involvement this year. The prize is worth €2,000 and recognises students and student initiatives that work to support other students or society.
In recent years, for example, the “Teddy Bear Hospital Freiburg” initiative (2025), the student group “German Course for Older People from Ukraine” (2024), and the support group for victims of domestic violence, launched in 2020 (2023), have received awards.
Who can be nominated for the prize?
Until 7 June 2026, students and staff of the University and the Student Services Organisation may nominate the following individuals and groups:
- Students and student groups who have taken innovative steps to improve the living, study and working conditions of students at the University of Freiburg
- Students and student groups who have shown outstanding commitment to social causes through voluntary work
The students nominated must be enrolled at the University of Freiburg at the time of the call for applications. Student groups must also be active at the time of the call for applications. Self-nominations are also accepted. Nominations can be submitted to the faculties’ alumni officers or directly by email to alumni@uni-freiburg.de.
