Research

The research agenda at the Chair of Environmental Planning and Transformation is based on a combination of substantive, i.e., object-related, and procedural, i.e., process-related, content from spatial planning and development with conceptual and empirical approaches to social relationships with nature.
The various topics are brought together in the research program on social spatial relations. As an integrative approach, this research program enables us to understand the transformations of social relations with nature through their expression in space and to shape them through (environmental) planning. The category of gender, which is included in the research program, opens up socially critical perspectives for analysis at the individual, structural, and epistemological levels.
