FRIAS Project Group Agrivoltaics
About the FRIAS Project Group
The Project Group Agrivoltaics researches the combination of agriculture and renewable energy as a contribution to climate resilience and the energy transition. Through workshops, a summer school and publications on biodiversity, system modeling, and socio-economic aspects, the group enhances international collaboration and visibility. Working with partners such as Fraunhofer ISE, Freiburg Research Collaboration Programme (FRESCO) and the Young Academy for Sustainability Research (YAS), the group promotes networking, supports young researchers, and prepares grant applications to ensure the long term and sustainable utilization of project results. The initiative positions the University of Freiburg as a leading center for agrivoltaics research and develops innovative approaches for sustainable land use and PV acceptance.
