Rory investigates new high-performing and sustainable catalysts for the curing of epoxy resins and polyurethanes, focusing especially on coating applications.
Patricia Sonnenberg completed her M.Sc. in Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart in 2022. Currently, she is pursuing her doctoral degree at the Macromolecular Institute at the University of Freiburg under the supervision of Prof. Stefan Naumann. Within the framework of collaborative research council 1333 (DFG), her research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of ordered mesoporous carbon materials, with particular emphasis on OMC film preparation and the development of highly defined supports materials with selectively immobilized metal catalysts.
Martina Huber received her Diploma in Chemistry and Chemical Technology in 2023 from the Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria. She then commenced her PhD in 2023 within the Nauman Research Group at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, and relocated with the Group in 2024 to the University of Freiburg, Germany. Her research focuses on the development of polymerization catalysts for the synthesis of polymeric templates, as well as the optimization of OMC materials.
Teo Borst completed his M.Sc. in Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart in 2025. The same year he relocated to Freiburg and joined the Naumann Group. His research focus is on the development of novel polymerization catalysts, in particular stereoselective borane catalysts for epoxide polymerization and the investigation of novel monomers for advanced, functionalized macromolecules.
