Metropolises on the move. How can the transport revolution succeed?
The documentary shows examples of a successful traffic turnaround: In Paris, the city highway is becoming a promenade, Barcelona is closing off neighborhoods to cars, and Copenhagen is building bicycle highways that will soon connect cities throughout the country.
Tandem Talk – 20.05., 6 pm (English), KG I HS 1098
Moving Forward: Sustainable and Inclusive Urban Mobility
What will mobility look like in the cities of tomorrow? This talk explores future models for sustainable urban transport and asks how we can create mobility systems that are not only climate-friendly but also socially inclusive.
RACE – 03.06., Start: 10 am (German), (PdAS)
Ready, set, go! EUCOR-Race
Nine participants, three routes, one goal: who can get from Freiburg to Colmar the fastest? In the race by bike, public transport and hitchhiking, we will highlight the opportunities and challenges of sustainable, cross-border mobility.

Rethinking mobility:
Perspectives in local social transportation
How are local social transport and sustainability connected? In these keynote speeches, we will take a look at the social aspects of mobility and discuss how gender, socio-economic disadvantage, ecology, physical impairment and migration influence and unequally distribute the use of local transport.
For all those interested, there will then be a short tour of the city, followed by an open discussion about perceptions of the city after the keynote speeches.
Panel discussion – 01.07., 6 pm (German), KG I HS 1098
Sustainable without borders? Between global networking and climate protection
This panel discussion questions the compatibility of international exchange and climate protection. The focus is on the importance of global networking for science and studies, and the question of how this exchange is justified in the face of the climate crisis. Structural hurdles, institutional responsibility and social inequalities will also be discussed: Who can afford mobility and under what conditions?
Bicycle tour – 15.07., 6 pm (German) (PdAS)
How bike-friendly is Freiburg really?
Together with the Pedestrian and Cycling Decision Freiburg, we will explore Freiburg’s existing infrastructure and current construction sites by bike. We talk about political decision-making processes and take a closer look: Where are things running smoothly and where are things still lacking?
