Workshop: X Medium Instruction – Conceptualization of skills development opportunities for instructors teaching in English, French and/or German as non-native speakers

The project 4D – 4 Dimensions of Digital and Didactic Development provides for the development of new offerings for instructors. The impulse behind these offerings is the project on English Medium Instruction (EMI), which ran at the University of Freiburg’s Sprachlehrinstitut (SLI) from 2012 to 2021. The new offerings will take a multilingual approach, addressing not only English, but also French and German as languages in which non-native speakers at the university teach.

To identify needs and set the course for the work ahead, a virtual workshop is scheduled for November 16, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The workshop will be held in German and English.

Help us shape the project! To identify the measures and formats that would be most useful to stakeholders involved in university teaching, we are looking for:

• Teachers and teaching coordinators who teach (or would like to teach) in English, French or German as a non-native speaker of the language

• University employees who do administrative work in connection with teaching and learning in a multilingual/non-native context
