Department

With two professorships, the Department of Ancient History in Freiburg is one of the larger institutes of ancient history in Germany. As an independent department, it nevertheless offers a familiar and productive working atmosphere as well as a dedicated team in research and teaching. Thanks to its extensive library and collection holdings in addition to close cooperation with other historical, archaeological and philological institutes, the department is attractive for students and researchers alike.
