About
Peter Eich studied History and Latin for teaching at the University of Cologne. In 1996, he became a research assistant in the field of Roman history at the same institution. In 2007, he moved to the University of Potsdam, where he served as a junior professor of Ancient Culture. Since 2010, he has held the professorship for Roman History and Historical Anthropology at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg.
Research
Peter Eich’s research focusses primarily on long-term socio-historical developments within the Imperium Romanum. His main interests lie in transformations within the administration and political theology. Additionally, he has explored topics related to religious phenomenology in the Greek world and conducted comparative studies on empires.
