Congratuation to Prof. Marlene Bartos

The German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved a Reinhart Koselleck Project led by BrainLinks-BrainTools member Professor Dr. Marlene Bartos. The project, titled “The role of the inputs and outputs of the dentate gyrus in the formation of memory traces and the control of behavior,” explores pioneering questions on how synaptic inputs from higher brain areas are transferd into spatial codes in the hippocampal dentate gyrus for the control of behavior, aiming to open up new perspectives in the discipline. The prestigious Reinhart Koselleck funding line supports outstanding researchers whose innovative and high-risk ideas promise significant scientific breakthroughs.

With her team, Professor Bartos seeks to gain fundamental insights into a brain area crucial for cognitive functions within the next five years with the DFG funding.
