Traveling to Freiburg im Breisgau
By Plane
The closest international airport is EuroAirport Basel–Mulhouse–Freiburg, located near Basel. A direct airport bus connects the airport’s French sector with Freiburg’s central bus station, next to the main railway station (Freiburg (Breisgau) Hbf). The journey takes approximately 55–60 minutes. Please check the airport’s transport information for current connections.
Alternatively, Frankfurt Airport offers a wide range of international flights and regular train connections to Freiburg. Trains depart from Frankfurt (M) Flughafen Fernbahnhof, the airport’s long-distance railway station. The journey takes approximately 2–2½ hours, depending on the connection. Direct services are available; other connections require a change. Please consult Deutsche Bahn for departure times.
By Train

From Frankfurt: Regular direct long-distance trains connect Frankfurt (Main) Hbf with Freiburg. Fast connections take approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. Timetables and tickets.
From Basel: Direct trains from Basel SBB reach Freiburg in approximately 40 minutes. Please check Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) or Deutsche Bahn for current connections.
By Car
From Frankfurt — A5 towards Karlsruhe/Basel: Follow the A5 south towards Karlsruhe and Basel. Leave the motorway at Freiburg-Mitte and follow the B31a towards Freiburg/Zentrum.
From Basel — A5 towards Karlsruhe: Follow the A5 north towards Freiburg and Karlsruhe. Leave the motorway at Freiburg-Mitte and follow the B31a towards Freiburg/Zentrum.
