Dry summer 2022 and the response of temperate tree species
A new publication in Ecohydrology investigated species-specific regulation of water fluxes and storage in the xylem, which are identified as important drivers of drought tolerance. The study shows significant differences in the strategies employed by Quercus petraea and Abies alba to deal with droughts and provides new suggestions on future study design.
