PhD project: “Anxious Authenticities. Representations of the Imperial Past in 21st Century Historical Fiction”
This PhD project deals with the representation of the English past in modern popular culture. It focuses specifically on the prevalent authenticity discourse surrounding historical fiction, aiming to observe differences and similarities across genre and media lines and observing the way the British Empire has shaped and still shapes our conceptions of English history and representation.
