Seven scientists at the University of Freiburg have been announced as Highly Cited Researchers 2024 in the ranking of the same name. They are among the authors who have been cited the most in their various research fields over the past decade.
Prof. Dr. Jürgen Bauhus from the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Freiburg has been included in the ranking for the sixth year in a row. Jürgen Bauhus heads the Chair of Silviculture and is the spokesperson for the Future Forests Cluster of Excellence initiative. The following scientists at the Medical Center – University of Freiburg have been named Highly Cited Researchers: Prof. Dr Dr Bertram Bengsch, Prof. Dr Jörg Meerpohl, Prof. Dr Marco Prinz, Prof. Dr Dieter Riemann, Dr Roman Sankowski and Prof. Dr Lukas Schwingshackl.
Bertram Bengsch is a professor at the Department of Internal Medicine in the Division of Internal Medicine II and has been ranked three times in total in the Highly Cited Researcher list since 2020. Jörg Meerpohl is a professor at the Institute for Evidence in Medicine in the Department of Biometry, Epidemiology and Medical Bioinformatics and has been included in the ranking for the tenth year in a row. Marco Prinz was once again nominated as a Highly Cited Researcher in two different research fields in this year’s ranking. He is a professor at the Institute of Neuropathology in the Department of Neurology and Neurophysiology and has been nominated for the seventh year in a row. Dieter Riemann was a professor at the Center for Mental Illnesses at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy until his retirement. Roman Sankowski is a scientist at the Institute of Neuropathology at the Department of Neurology and Neurophysiology. Lukas Schwingshackl is also a professor at the Institute for Evidence in Medicine and has been included in the Highly Cited Researcher list for the fifth year in a row.
Dr. Ori Staszewski was a scientist and specialist at the Institute of Neuropathology at the Department of Neurology and Neurophysiology and is now at the Institute of Neuropathology at Saarland University Medical Center. The University of Freiburg is still listed as a secondary affiliation in the current Highly Cited Researcher list.
