A new methodology course presented by experts in the field offers practical insights for pharmaceutical science students at the University of Freiburg. Students are given concrete examples of modern analytics, which they can apply to course material. For this new methodology course, the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences is receiving funding of 19,000 euros from the German Chemical Industry Fund (FCI), a funding body set up by the German Chemical Industry Association (VCI). In addition, the institute will receive 15,420 euros to strengthen the roles of ethics and sustainability in chemistry and natural sciences. Dr. Raphael Vogler, CEO of ChemCon GmbH in Freiburg, symbolically presented the money to Dr. Lydia Walter, Dr. Philipp Germer and Professor Dr. Michael Müller of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry.

“The funding will enable us to create a stronger link between teaching and practice. Furthermore, we can now bring the themes of ethics and sustainability together and deal with them in an interesting course. The two together are a terrific opportunity for the students.”
