Alumni Award for outstanding social involvement – call for nominations now open

Alumni Freiburg e.V. awards an annual prize of €2,000 to students or student groups who volunteer to improve study conditions at the University of Freiburg or who are involved in social organisations. Nominations can be submitted to the alumni representatives of the faculties or to the Alumni Freiburg e.V. office by 6 June 2025.
This year, Alumni Freiburg e.V. is once again awarding a prize for outstanding social involvement. This prize is awarded to students or student institutions/initiatives that have made a significant contribution to improving the study, living and working conditions of students at the University of Freiburg or who are involved in voluntary work for social organisations. The prize is endowed with 2,000 euros and is awarded by the Rector.
Previous winners
Previous winners include the student initiative ‘German course for older people from Ukraine’ (2024) and the self-help group for victims of domestic violence (2023), which was founded in 2020.
Students who are enrolled at the University of Freiburg at the time of the call for applications or student initiatives at the university that are active at the time of the call for applications (please submit proof of enrolment) are eligible to apply or be nominated.
Application
Students and employees of the University and the Student Services Organisation can submit their proposals by 6 June 2025 to the alumni representatives of the faculties or directly to the Alumni Freiburg e.V. office. Only current and voluntary projects can be considered.
