The University of Freiburg is offering its staff and students new online learning modules on three important topics in information security: artificial intelligence, malware and security protocols. The modules are part of the “Basic Training in Information Security,” which can be accessed via the ILIAS learning platform. The e-learning training is available in both German and English. After successful participation, a certificate of participation can be created within the training.

A vital soft skill

With the “Basic Training in Information Security based on secAware.nrw,” the University of Freiburg provides its members with an easily accessible source of information about digital threats and how to avoid them. “Knowledge of current threats and how to stay safe in the digital world is essential and an important soft skill these days,” says Dr Marc Herbstritt, Information Security Officer at the University of Freiburg. “We recommend that all students and employees complete the free training.”
