Dates and deadlines

Deadlines must be met when applying and enrolling. These often vary depending on the applicant group or degree programme. All the information you need is here, so you won’t miss any important dates.

Changing university or field of study

Would you like to change your field of study or are you moving from a Bachelor’s to a Master’s degree? Are you currently studying at another university and would like to spend one or more semesters studying at the University of Freiburg? Or are you planning to study abroad? Language certificates

A high proficiency in German is required for most undergraduate degree programmes at the University of Freiburg. However, certain programmes may also require other language skills. It is important to find out which languages these are and which certificates we accept for a successful application. You can find out about the exact requirements here.

Special Applications

As part of their application, applicants with disabilities or chronic illnesses may request to be considered a “hardship case”. It is also possible to make requests for disadvantage compensation (shortened waiting period, grade improvement), and for top athletes.
