Dates and deadlines

You must meet the deadlines for applying and enrolling. These often vary depending on the applicant group or degree programme. You’ll find everything you need to know right here, so you won’t miss any important dates.

Changing university or field of study

Would you like to change your field of study or are you moving from a bachelor’s to a master’s degree? Are you currently enrolled at another university and interested in spending one or more semesters studying at the University of Freiburg? Are you planning to study abroad? Language certificates

A high level of German is required for most undergraduate degree programmes at the University of Freiburg. Some programmes may also require other language skills. It is important to find out which languages and certificates are needed for a successful application. You’ll find the exact requirements here.

Special Applications

Applicants with disabilities or chronic illnesses may submit a hardship request as part of their application. Applicants may also request disadvantage compensation (shortened waiting period, grade improvement). In addition, top athletes are eligible to submit a special application.
