Tuition fees for international students
Tuition fees apply to international students who are not citizens of a member state of the European Union (EU) or another signatory state to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA = Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) and who are enrolling in a bachelor’s degree programme, consecutive master’s degree programme or state examination programme (continuing education and part-time master’s degree programmes are exempt).
In accordance with Section 3 (1) of the State Higher Education Fees Act, the tuition fee for international students is 1,500 euros per semester. The tuition fee must be paid in addition to the regular semester fee upon enrolment and re-registration.
The tuition fees are payable each semester in addition to the regular semester fee.
Tuition fees for a second degree
If you have already completed a university degree in the Federal Republic of Germany, you will be required to pay fees for a second or further degree in an undergraduate programme (state examination or bachelor’s programme) or a second or further consecutive master’s programme. Students in teacher training programmes and continuing education master’s programmes are exempt from tuition fees.
In accordance with Section 8 (1) of the State Higher Education Fees Act, the tuition fee is 650 euros per semester. The tuition fee must be paid in addition to the regular semester fee upon enrolment and re-registration.
Tuition fees are payable each semester in addition to the regular semester fee.
Tuition fees for continuing education or contact studies
The tuition fees for a continuing education master’s programme or for a contact study programme vary and can be found in the fee regulations for the respective programmes.
The tuition fees for a continuing education master’s programme are payable each semester in addition to the regular semester fee.
Fee for guest studies
The fee for guest studies at the University of Freiburg is 50 euros per semester.
