Dormitories of the Studierendenwerk
The Studierendenwerk Freiburg (SWFR) offers rooms in various student dormitories. Applications for them can be submitted online no more than six months in advance – so apply early on if you’re interested!
Private housing market
In addition, the Studierendenwerk offers a portal for finding a room on the private housing market.
Besides popular websites like wg-gesucht.de, vierwaen.de, or wohnverdient.de, regional magazines and free newspapers for various parts of town have a classified advertisements – it’s worth it to take a look in them or even publish your own ad.
Housing for help
“Housing for help” is a homeshare programme coordinated by the Studierendenwerk. It brings students in need of a room together with householders offering accommodation in exchange for help in their home.
