Once you have received your admission, you can begin arranging your travel to Germany. Please apply for your visa at the German embassy or consulate in your home country.
Applicants from China, India, and Vietnam must first contact the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS) at the German embassy in their home country.
VisaFlow supports international students with their visa applications. The University of Freiburg provides free access to VisaFlow using the access code “UNIFREIBURG25”.
Non-EU nationals must visit the Immigration Office of the City of Freiburg (or the Immigration Office of the District Authority if they live outside Freiburg) before their visa expires in order to apply for a residence permit. Please bring your passport, admission letter, passport photos, and proof of how you will finance your stay in Germany.
