The Department of E-Learning is the University of Freiburg’s central point of contact for questions relating to the use of digital media in teaching and continuing education. As the interface between technology and its usage, it supports all members of the university in the reasonable integration and use of digital media and educational technologies in teaching and continuing education programmes. A key element of the supporting work is the digital teaching toolbox. It provides an overview of the digital tools available at the University of Freiburg and shows how they can be used.
In the Digital Teaching Toolbox you will find information on digital tools at the University of Freiburg, suggestions for digital teaching and learning scenarios, tips on electronic exams and best practice examples from other lecturers.
The University Library’s Media Centre lends out various devices and accessories for teaching and research purposes: video cameras & accessories, photo cameras & accessories, audio recording devices and microphones. It offers a broad programme of courses to promote media skills and provides video and sound studios, multimedia and video editing workstations for media production. The Media Centre also offers courses on how to use the media equipment available on loan.
By ‘cross-media’ we mean the optimally co-ordinated combination of audio, text and image media. At uniTV, uniFM 88.4 and uniOnline, teaching staff, students and researchers can receive journalistic training. You can also integrate this knowledge into your courses for maximum benefit.
Learning academic information and media skills at different levels is a process that accompanies your studies and is supported by various partners. The University Library offers the FreiLern@UB tutorial, which you can specifically integrate into your teaching, especially for students in the Bachelor’s phase of their studies
