Future Forests

Adaptation of complex social-ecological systems to global change

We are a member of the Future Forests Cluster of Excellence. In Research Area A, we will work together with other scientists from our faculty and the Faculty of Biology to investigate the resilience of forest trees in experiments and in the study regions in the Black Forest and the Rhine Valley. The focus will be on dry heat waves in combination with infestation by insect pests or fungal pathogens.
