Teaching
The Geomorphology and Recent Morphodynamics research group primarily offers courses for geography degree programs. However, many of our modules are also of interest to other programs within the faculty. Our introductory courses cover the fundamentals of physical geography, including essential concepts and methods. In advanced modules, the focus is on the impacts of global change on the natural environment, particularly in the areas of geomorphology, natural hazard analysis, and geodata processing.
As our study programs are primarily taught in German, we only offer a few modules in English.

Bachelor’s and Master’s Theses
The Geomorphology and Recent Morphodynamics research group offers students the opportunity to write Bachelor’s and Master’s theses on various topics related to geomorphology, general physical geography, and natural hazard research. Methodologically, theses can be approached in diverse ways, including GIS methods, remote sensing and digital data processing, field methods, and literature reviews.
In addition to topics defined by our group, which are often closely aligned with our research projects, students also have the option to develop their own research topic in consultation with their supervisor.
If you are interested in writing a thesis with our group, please contact one of the supervising staff members via email or during office hours.
