External Funding

Guest Researchers Welcome

FRIAS offers guest research stays or guest fellowships for scholars with their own funding for uninterrupted research visits of more than two months, provided they have received funding for their project through a competitive programme or are currently under review for funding, or have a host connection to a person or institution at the University of Freiburg.

The institute can accept scholarship holders of renowned funding programmes – such as the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), Heisenberg Grant, Volkswagen Foundation, European Research Council (ERC), and German Research Foundation (DFG) – who are explicitly interested in joining the interdisciplinary FRIAS community as fellows for the duration of their funding. FRIAS is open to collaborating with research institutes from within the university and across the region.

FRIAS provides office space and organizational assistance for guest researchers and guest fellows during their visit. FRIAS cannot act as a host institution for applications for funding from organizations outside of FRIAS.
