University-Based Institutes for Advanced Study (UBIAS)

UBIAS is a worldwide network of about 50 University-Based Institutes for Advanced Study. UBIAS institutes are associated with or embedded in universities, actively contributing to the international academic culture and major scientific achievements of their home institutions. UBIAS seeks to enable structured forms of exchange in this growing segment, including biennial conferences and joint programmes between partner institutes. The network was initiated in 2010 at a conference hosted by FRIAS.

One of the recent joint projects, which FRIAS is also involved in, is the Constructive Advanced Thinking (CAT) initiative, which aims to build networks of outstanding early-career researchers.
