Curriculum Vitae

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER), Dresden, Germany. My research focuses on urban energy transition and the associated social and ecological justice implications. I engage with critical climate urbanism and am interested in studying radical, bottom-up alternatives to urban unsustainability. My previous research has focused on planning for urban and regional climate action, energy transition and risk governance.

I adopt an inter- and transdisciplinary approach in my research. As a qualitative researcher, the methods I use most are: ethnographies, key informant interviews, focus groups, community surveys, document analysis and policy review. I am trained as an architect and urban planner and have worked in academia and practice in India, Canada and Germany.
