Curriculum Vitae

Noura Wahby is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Public Policy and Administration, and Director of Middle East Studies Academic programs at The American University in Cairo. Currently she is a PI on a Bath University MENA Social Protection Network grant; and a Co-PI on an Urban Studies Foundation Seminar Series grant. Prior to joining AUC, she was an ESRC postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Geography at the University of Cambridge; and a research assistant at the Cambridge Centre of Smart Infrastructure looking at citizen engagement and digital technologies in the UK. Her doctoral research at Cambridge’s Centre of Development Studies focused on the political economy of urban development and waterscapes in Egypt; and won the 2019 Malcolm H. Kerr Best Dissertation Award in Social Sciences from the Middle East Studies Association (USA). Her research interests include the urban commons, governance, water, and political economy.
