Curriculum Vitae

Born 1962. Studied German Literature and Musicology. Recieved his PhD in 1992. 1993–1999 Assistant Professor. Habilitation 1998. 1999–2005 University teacher. Since 2005 apl. Professor/Akademischer Oberrat at the German Department of the Univeristy of Freiburg, 2007–2013 as a chair substitute. Books about the German “Versepos” in the 18th Century (Diss., 1993), about the reception of Baroque around 1800 (Habil. 2000), about Dürrenmatt’s Die Physiker (2010), Schiller’s Kabale und Liebe (2011) and Hauptmann’s Vor Sonnenaufgang (2013). As an coeditor: Ariosto: Die Historia vom Rasenden Roland. 3 vol. 2002; Zigler: Die Asiatische Banise. 2011. Homburg: Clio. 2 Bde. 2013. Anthologies (Mythos Ikarus. 1999. 32008; Mythos Pygmalion. 2003), miscellanies (Lied und Lyrik um 1900. 2010; Schöpferische Restauration. 2014; Der Zweite Dreißigjährige Krieg. 2019) and serials (Klassische Moderne; Bibliothek des Literarischen Vereins). Articles about the History of German Literature from the 16th to the 20th century and about the relationship between music and literature.
