Curriculum Vitae

John Sallis currently holds the Frederick J. Adelmann Chair in Philosophy at Boston College.  He has held Chairs also at Pennsylvania State University, Vanderbilt University, Loyola University of Chicago, and Duquesne University.  He has held Visiting Professsorships at Warwick University (UK), Staffordshire University (UK), Universität Freiburg (Germany), and University of Bergen (Norway).  In 2012 he was the recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Research Prize.  In 2007 he received a doctorate honoris causa from Universität Freiburg.  He is the author of more than twenty books.  His writings have been translated into more than a dozen languages.  He has lectured extensively in Europe and Asia, in addition to North and South America.  In 2012 he curated a major exhibition of works by Paul Klee at the McMullen Museum of Art in Boston.
