MSCA Cofund
The MSCA COFUND programme supports both existing and new regional, national and international programmes that aim to strengthen the training, mobility and career development of either doctoral students or postdoctoral researchers. This funding is targeted towards institutions in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.

MSCA Staff Exchanges
MSCA Staff Exchange promotes international and intersectoral cooperation through the mutual exchange of staff. The aim is to strengthen cooperation between academic and non-academic institutions and between Europe and third countries. The duration of a Staff Exchange is maximum of 4 years.

Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships
Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships fund research projects by experienced scientists at research institutions inside and outside Europe. They are divided into European Postdoctoral Fellowships and Global Postdoctoral Fellowships. Researchers with a doctoral degree and a maximum of 8 years of full-time post-graduate experience at the time of submission deadline are eligible to apply.
The mobility rule applies to both lines. Researchers may not have lived or worked in the host institution’s country for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the submission deadline (for Global Postdoctoral Fellowships, the reference is the host institution of the “outgoing phase”).

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Doctoral Networks
MSCA Doctoral Networks (DN) promote structured doctoral training in networks from several European institutions. The Doctoral Networks are offered in three variants (Doctoral Networks – DN, Industrial Doctorates – ID, Joint Doctorates – JD). The duration of a DN and ID is a maximum of 4 years and for JD maximum of 5 years.

ERC Proof of Concept Grants
The ERC Proof of Concept Grant is a complementary grant to the ERC Research Grants. It is aimed at researchers who already hold an ERC grant and would like to pre commercialise a research result from their current or recently completed project (completed max. 1 year ago). Up to 150,000 EUR can be requested per project for a duration of max. 18 months. Next deadline: 18.09.2025.
ERC Advanced Grants
The ERC Advanced Grants are open to experienced scientists who can demonstrate significant research success over the past 10 years. Evidence may include the number of publications or patents, participation in conferences or the awarding of scientific prizes. Funding is intended to support innovative research at the “frontiers of knowledge,” and projects in all disciplines may be funded and research proposals of an interdisciplinary nature are welcomed. The maximum funding per project is generally EUR 2.5 million over a five-year period. Deadline: 28.08.2025.
ERC Starting Grants
The ERC Starting Grants are intended to provide scientists in the early stages of their careers with the necessary funding to launch their independence by founding or consolidating their own research group. The funding serves to promote innovative research at the ‘frontiers of knowledge’, whereby projects from all disciplines can be funded. Researchers with a doctorate between 2 and 7 years ago can apply for Starting Grants. The maximum funding per project with a 5-year term is generally a maximum of EUR 1.5 million. The submission deadline is 14 October 2025.
ERC Synergy Grants
The ERC Synergy Grants are aimed at teams of two to four researchers. The projects should lead to discoveries at the interfaces between established disciplines and to substantial progress at the frontiers of knowledge. The projects should only be possible through the collaboration of the named researchers. It must therefore be clear why the project is only meaningful and promising through this collaboration. Funding can be applied for for up to 6 years, the maximum budget is usually EUR 10 million.
